“…For every one of us that succeeds, it's because there's somebody there to show you the way out.”

“…I am a woman in process. I'm just trying like everybody else. I try to take every conflict, every experience, and learn from it. Life is never dull.”

The Oprah Winfre Show Finale--

"...I've been asked many times during this

farewell season, 'Is ending the show bittersweet?'  Well, I say all sweet. No bitter. And here is why: Many of us have been together for 25 years.  We have hooted and hollered together, had our aha! moments, we ugly-cried together and we did our gratitude journals.  So I thank you all for your support and your trust in me.

I thank you for sharing this yellow brick road of blessings. I thank you for tuning in every day along with your mothers and your sisters and your daughters, your partners, gay and otherwise, your friends and all the husbands who got coaxed into watching Oprah.  And I thank you for being as much of a sweet inspiration for me as I've tried to be for you.

I won't say goodbye. I'll just say...  until we meet again.

To God be the glory!"

“…I remember a specific moment, watching my grandmother hang the clothes on the line, and her saying to me, 'you are going to have to learn to do this,' and me being in that space of awareness and knowing that my life would not be the same as my grandmother's life.”

We’ve heard Oprah say many times over, that her Grandmother would have not imagine the life Oprah lives. "Born into rural poverty,  Winfrey became a millionaire at age 32.  Forbes' international rich list has listed Winfrey as the world's only black billionaire and as the first black woman billionaire in world history." (Wiki)   Success has it’s perks-- among them Oprah enjoys several fabulous homes throughout the world and a Gulfstream private jet.

It’s not every day someone comes along and believes in you so much so, that they ‘gift’ you $100 million dollars. But in essence, that’s just what Discovery Communications did when inking a deal with mega-media Oprah Winfrey—and, The Oprah Winfrey Network was born.

Debuting on January 1, 2011 Oprah’s network began captivating more than 83,000 households with original programming, documentaries, specials and acquired movies. Yep, Discovery new what they were doing. One short year later, Oprah teamed up with long-time friend and media mogul Tyler Perry, where his directing, producing and gritty story telling brought to OWN, one of the hottest night time dramas, The Haves and the Have Nots. In just a few short seasons, 3.6+million viewers have become Tuesday night soap-box addicts as we find ourselves ‘thirsting for more’ ...betrayal, manipulation, sexy, cut-throat scripting from Perry. The Haves and the Have Nots gives us an ‘up close and personal’ view of the Cryer’s, a power-hungry and ohhh so dysfunctional family and the intricate dynamics they have with their staff and Southern community. OWN’s programming foray continues with Oprah’s Next Chapter, Oprah’s Lifeclass and Super Soul Sunday, with a host of non-scripted segments due this Fall.

You know Oprah does it BIG… and her international reach does not disappoint. Households as far away as Australia, South Africa, Poland, Russia, The Balkans/Romania/Bulgaria  all enjoy the network’s exciting, thought provoking and transformational television programming.

Yep, Discovery big-wigs new exactly what they were doing!

Please have a look at a few of my favorite VIDEOS ...from Oprah's Next Chapter, Oprah's Lifeclass and Super Soul Sunday

For the first time on television, Oprah and spiritual teacher Eckhart Tolle began the 10-part series Oprah & Eckhart Tolle: A New Earth.  It's not too late to catch up!  We're going on a voyage and Oprah and Eckhart have promised us an awe inspiring ride as they take us on a chapter-by-chapter journey through Eckhart's seminal work, A New Earth: Awakening to Your Life's Purpose.  I was blown away by their thought-provoking discussions that taught us how to focus and become more aware and present.
