TRUTH AND FRIENDSHIP

In you,

I have found true friendship.

For ever so long I have searched for those

That hold a passion for living each day

as a new beginning.

I have searched and found

emptiness in words,

darkness in minds,

immoral acceptances

and dark moralities.

But in my mind's eye,

As I pass through this degradation of our Humanity,

I see you rise above this pessimism

With a strength surrounding your very being,

You seem to know the weaknesses

that make each vulnerable,

And you have walked those dark paths

that are better left without footprints.

Still, yet,

You smile when reminiscing those parched memories

of a bittersweet past.

For, it is you that does not judge,

that does not ridicule,

laugh or call names.

It is you that will listen

When all others have but empty advice.

You feel compassion for the most human of situations,

And these rare and precious qualities in which your Soul cradles

Have drawn my everlasting friendship to you.

SUNDAY'S SONG

Be not overwhelmed, my Love,

By the lightning-quick Truth.

It shall blind all those that will not see,

and cripple great, mighty Nations

that ignore their children's cries.

This is Sunday's Song.

Sleep the deep sleep of

Heaven's bright Angels.

My gallant, brave One;

My Hero; my Love.

For tomorrow's long journey:

there is much to prepare for.

WE TRULY ARE

It matters not

That worldly goods are plentiful,

Or sense and nonsense

Fill our everyday hours.

It matters so

That our hearts give love

And take away sorrows.

It matters so

That kindness and goodness

Engulf our mundane lives,

And give us each a chance

To be merely human.

That is our saving Grace

And Holy Forgiveness.

God's Children;

That is truly what we are.

"...For me, poetry has been a soothing balm in sometimes sticky situations.  My words in verse are who my Spirit is and what It stands for. When pen is put to paper, it is not my conscious Self that lays verse to vellum; it is another plane that the words transpire and I am ever so grateful if these words inspire even one individual. All would be worth the minutes I've ever doubted myself."
